The Animal Under The Fur | Release Day Blitz

The Animal Under The Fur by E.J. Mellow
Publication date: March 30th 2017
Genres: Action, Adult, Romance

From award-winning author E. J. Mellow comes an action romance dripping with vengeful delight.

Orphaned on the streets as a baby, Nashville Brown, a.k.a Kill Operative 3, knows better than to rely on anyone. With heightened senses and superhuman strength to survive, she’s been raised as the perfect assassin.

The trick to her success? Keeping everyone, even her best friend, at arm’s length.

Losing his entire family in the span of a year, Carter Smith left his ability to love buried deep in their graves. His only concerns now are completing his missions and effortlessly charming the next temptress to warm his bed.

The key to his accomplishments? Working alone mixed with a Casanova smile.

But when a deadly weapon needs to be stopped from falling into the wrong hands, the lone wolves find themselves thrown into an explosive partnership. Can Carter and 3 lower their guns aimed at one another long enough to succeed, or will their unwillingness to compromise end up destroying more than their perfect records? Whatever their differences, both agree on one thing—in the game of lies and deceit, the line between friend and foe is often blurred by blood splatter.

The Animal Under The Fur is a hate-to-loath-to-love standalone novel filled with savagery, secrets, and enough angst to wrinkle the pages you’ll find gripped in your hands.

How do I even begin to describe how amazing this book is? Its so full of badass comebacks, action-packed and girl power. I couldn’t put this book down by the fact that its so awesome that I wouldn’t even ask for anything to change.

I love how their paths cross towards one another and no matter how much they want to hate and loathe the other, it’s not even possible because their attractions and fond wins and consumes them both. Nashville a.k.a 3 is definitely who I aspire to be where in a different universe I’m either a spy or an assassin. (as if!) She’s just so badass and fearless and makes the term nothing can bring you down to a whole new level.

Let’s not even forget about Carter! Man, he is super swoon-worthy and sweet. If Nashville wouldn’t and refuse to see the beauty of a certain Italian stud, I swear I would knock some sense into her for being so stupid and blind.

All in all, I can only say good things about this book and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a gripping action story with a twist of romance.

This is the first book that I have read by Dela and I think that I might give her other books a chance to read. I like how the story begins, the pace was a bit slow for my liking but it definitely builds up the story.

I like the chemistry between Jessie and Kendall. And how they have to go through a lot to be where they want their relationship to be. I also get that they both have issues but it feels like it got a bit dragged. Like seriously fix them up and be with each other already!!

All in all, its a great contemporary read with enough twists as the story progresses.

Nothing Is Predictable by Adalina Mae

Book Review #116

Title: Nothing Is Predictable

Author: Adalina Mae

Publication: Adalina Mae

Genre: Womens Fiction

Format: e-book

Released Date: October 1, 2016

Pages: 270 pages

Fiction / Roman-à-clef: Inspired and based on SOME true events. All characters and many scenes are fictitious.

Zara is a vibrant, funny, resilient American-born woman struggling with a traumatic past. When Zara is eight years old, her father, in a drunken rampage, accidentally shoots himself dead, leaving her to battle through her life.
Zara’s long exhausting journey dealing with her childhood memories leaves her struggling with romance and hinders her from developing healthy relationships.

Who is the love of her life? Is it her Swiss God? Will she be able to find peace and happiness?

Readers will relate to the journey that Adalina Mae takes us on, which is interspersed with heartbreaking moments as well as hilarious escapades. This is life and nothing is predictable.

The story will keep you on your toes and offers mysteries to solve: Why does Zara have recurrent nightmares of her last night with her father? Who does Zara end up with? Does she eventually find love?

This book is more descriptive rather than dialogue and I didn’t really enjoy reading it like that. I feel that the author should keep the back stories short but precise rather than go on and on about it. I get it that the author wants to tell the whole story of what happened but in my opinion, it dragged the story and made it look dull.

I didn’t feel the connection between the characters, especially Zara. I just couldn’t understand why she did what she did. I also didn’t feel the romance and spark between her and her love interests.

I end my review of this book with the thought that this book could be a really great book to someone else but its just not my cup of tea.
